Lawrence Dallaglio Wife: All About Alice Dallaglio’s 20-Year Marriage and the Divorce That Led to Bankruptcy

Alice Dallaglio stood by Lawrence Dallaglio for nearly two decades. She was there when he lifted the World Cup in Sydney. She was there when the scandals broke. She was there when the money started running out. But in the end, she was the one who filed for divorce, and she was the one who tried to sell the family home to save him from financial ruin.

The story of Alice Dallaglio is one of loyalty tested to its absolute limit. She married the rugby legend in a romantic ceremony at Lake Como in 2005. They had three children. They weathered infidelity allegations on both sides. And then, last year, it all collapsed.

Here’s what we know about Alice Dallaglio and the marriage that ended in bankruptcy court.

Who Is Alice Dallaglio?

Alice Dallaglio is a former model who married Lawrence Dallaglio in 2005 at Lake Como, Italy. They had been dating for almost a decade before the wedding.

The couple have three children together: Ella, 29, Josie, 26, and Enzo, 24. They lived as a family in Richmond, south-west London, for nearly 25 years.

A Marriage That Survived Scandal After Scandal

Alice and Lawrence’s marriage was never quiet. Allegations of infidelity followed them for years.

In the late Nineties, reports emerged of Dallaglio’s wild partying while Alice was at home looking after their young children. Later, he was accused of sleeping with a married mother, which led to the woman divorcing her husband.

In 2005, the couple hit a rocky patch, and Alice reportedly had a fling with millionaire property developer Leon Butler. The revelations came after Dallaglio confirmed they were on a “trial separation.”

They reconciled. They married. They had another child. And for a while, it seemed like they had weathered the storm.

The Divorce That Broke Everything

In February 2025, news broke that Alice and Lawrence were divorcing. Both attended Central Family Court in Holborn, London, to finalise the end of their marriage.

By then, the financial pressure was already unbearable. Lawrence had narrowly avoided bankruptcy two years earlier by paying off debts including a £700,000 tax bill. But the reprieve didn’t last.

The divorce triggered a cascade of financial disasters. Alice, in a last-ditch effort to save her husband from bankruptcy, applied to the High Court for an urgent validation order to sell their Richmond home.

Her legal representative, Craig Parrett, told the court: “The completion of the property’s set for tomorrow and all the parties are keen to ensure that completion can proceed for the benefit of the first respondent’s [Dallaglio’s] creditors.”

The home sold for £2.4 million, well below its original asking price of £3.3 million.

The Day After the Sale

The timing was brutal. Just one day after the family home was sold, Lawrence Dallaglio was declared bankrupt.

He was ordered to hand over his share of the proceeds to pay off an overdrawn directors’ loan of more than £366,500. Documents filed to Companies House showed he owed £423,570 in overdrawn director’s loans related to his now-defunct firm, Lawrence Dallaglio Limited, plus more than £60,000 to liquidators. HMRC and two other creditors had lodged claims totalling around £350,000 and £61,000 respectively.

What Alice Tried to Do

Alice Dallaglio’s court application wasn’t an act of vengeance. It was an act of desperation.

She sought the validation order specifically to prevent the bankruptcy from happening. She wanted the sale to go through in an orderly way, with the proceeds going to creditors. Her lawyers argued that the sale needed to be completed for “the benefit of the first respondent’s creditors.”

She was trying to save him. Even after the divorce. Even after everything.

What Lawrence Says Now

In September 2026, Lawrence Dallaglio spoke publicly for the first time about the collapse of his marriage and his finances.

On The High Performance Podcast, he said: “As a result of getting divorced, I was made bankrupt. I had some financial problems.”

He admitted he retreated into “hibernation” and “self-pity” after the split. He also acknowledged his own role in the disaster: “Much of it was my own doing. That’s the first thing you have to acknowledge. I could have done things a lot better.”

He even reflected on what he could have done differently to save the marriage: “Might not have got divorced. I could have been one of those people that just parks all the real feelings and just carries on and lives a lie.”

The Bankruptcy That Won’t End

Lawrence’s bankruptcy restrictions have been extended twice. They were initially due to end after 12 months, but a judge extended them by three months in May, then suspended his discharge entirely until August 31, 2027.

The extension came after reports suggested he had continued spending excessively, leaving “nothing” to pay his debts. Claims emerged that he earned around £200,000 between August and January but spent it all without leaving anything for tax or his divorce settlement.

Where Alice Is Now

Alice Dallaglio has not spoken publicly about the divorce or the bankruptcy. She has not given interviews. She has not issued statements. She has simply retreated from public life, as the marriage she fought so hard to save was dismantled in courtrooms and insolvency hearings.

The woman who once stood beside Lawrence Dallaglio at the height of his fame is now the woman who watched him sell the World Cup medal that defined his career.
