Family History

Black Tracker is one of my great grandfather’s sons, Alexander Riley (1884–1970). He was born at Nymagee, New South Wales, the son of John Riley and Mary Calligan. Alec worked as a station hand and joined the New South Wales Police Force as a tracker in 1911, based at Dubbo.

Continuing my search I also learnt that I had a cousin named Michael Riley, a photographer known for his work Michael Riley: Sights Unseen in the National Gallery of Australia.

Learning about my family history helped me know my identity and understand where my strength came from.
