Who Is Bo Nix Wife? Meet Izzy Nix, the Former Auburn Cheerleader Behind the Broncos QB

Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix has become one of the NFL’s most talked-about young signal-callers. But while fans watch him command the huddle at Empower Field, there’s one person who has been by his side since long before the bright lights of the league: his wife, Izzy Nix.

The couple’s story is one of college sweethearts turned NFL power couple, complete with a storybook proposal, a cross-country move, and a perfectly timed first child. Here’s everything you need to know about the woman behind the Broncos quarterback.

From Auburn Cheerleader to NFL Wife

Izzy Nix, born in Alabama, was an athlete long before she ever met Bo. She spent 14 years as a competitive gymnast before trading her leotard for pom-poms at Auburn University.

It was at Auburn in June 2020 that she first crossed paths with Bo, who was then the Tigers’ starting quarterback. Izzy was an Auburn cheerleader, and the two quickly hit it off. Their relationship grew alongside Bo’s college career, weathering the highs and lows of SEC football.

A Jordan-Hare Proposal

The couple’s love story hit a major milestone in July 2021. Bo popped the question at Jordan-Hare Stadium, the very place where he had experienced some of his most memorable moments as a college athlete.

“I knew from the first moment I laid eyes on you that you were special,” Bo wrote in a tribute to Izzy after the proposal. “I cannot wait to be your husband. Here’s to forever with you, Izzy Smoke!”

Married in Alabama, Then Off to Oregon

Bo and Izzy tied the knot on July 2, 2022, at Ridge Point Events Venue in Alpine, Alabama, surrounded by family and friends. They honeymooned in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

Shortly after the wedding, the couple made a major move. Bo had transferred to the University of Oregon for his final college season, and Izzy, who graduated from Auburn in May 2022 with a degree in Exercise Science, followed him across the country to Eugene.

“It was definitely a tough transition coming out here,” Izzy admitted in an interview with Pac-12 Networks. “But I knew when we got engaged that we could live anywhere, be anywhere he could transfer, and so it’s been great.”

The Move to Denver and a New Chapter

In April 2024, the Broncos selected Bo Nix in the first round of the NFL Draft, and the couple packed their bags once again, this time for Denver, Colorado.

Izzy has embraced her role as an NFL wife with grace. She’s been a constant presence at Broncos games and has been open about the emotional rollercoaster of football life. When Bo suffered a season-ending ankle injury during the playoffs, Izzy shared a heartfelt photo of the moment, capturing the raw emotion of the situation.

Welcoming Baby Riley, On Bo’s Birthday

In October 2025, Bo and Izzy announced they were expecting their first child. Then, in February 2026, they welcomed their daughter, Riley Belle Nix, in the most serendipitous way possible: she arrived on Bo’s own birthday, February 25.

“Riley Belle Nix arrived on her dad’s birthday,” Izzy shared on Instagram. “The best birthday party I’ve ever been to!!!!!!”

The arrival came just weeks after Bo’s season-ending injury, turning a difficult period into one of immense joy. Bo later penned a letter to his newborn daughter for The Players’ Tribune, reflecting on the lessons he learned through adversity.

“The biggest win of this past season wasn’t a playoff game,” Nix wrote. “It was being slowed down long enough to hold you in my arms and realize that sometimes God’s plan doesn’t look like what you prayed for. It looks better.”

Who Is Izzy Nix Beyond the Title of “Wife”?

Izzy is more than just Bo’s biggest supporter. She’s a certified fitness coach at F45 Training, a role she’s described as “doing what I love every day.” She holds a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Auburn, along with minors in Psychology and Sport Coaching.

She’s also openly competitive, something she says she and Bo share. “Bo and I are equally competitive and ambitious,” she told fashion brand Mestiza. “We push each other towards our goals and to be better versions of ourselves daily.”

A Partnership Built on Faith and Football

Throughout their journey from Auburn to Oregon to Denver, the Nixes have been vocal about their faith and their gratitude for the life they’ve built together. When Izzy shared the first photos of baby Riley, she wrote, “The Lord truly has blessed me with these precious women and I am deeply grateful for the way they have loved and celebrated us.”

As Bo enters the next phase of his NFL career, Izzy and baby Riley will undoubtedly remain his most steadfast supporters, front row, cheering the loudest.
