The star witness in Caleb Flynn’s murder trial is back in the headlines, with a podcaster claiming she’s moved on—and raising questions about her family.
Alleigha Botner, the 24-year-old former worship leader whose testimony helped convict Caleb Flynn of killing his wife, is reportedly dating again, according to claims shared online. The rumors surfaced just days after Flynn, 40, was found guilty in the February 2026 shooting death of Ashley Flynn at their Tipp City, Ohio, home.
Botner’s affair with Flynn was a central part of the prosecution’s case, and her two days on the witness stand exposed intimate details of their relationship to a national audience. Now, attention has shifted to her life after the trial.
Podcaster Claims Botner Has a New Boyfriend
True crime podcaster Abby Escobar, known online as “Abby Blabby,” shared a video she says shows Botner during an August 28 traffic stop. In the footage, Botner allegedly tells an officer she was meeting her boyfriend at a park.
“If I were him, I’d be gone soooo fast, especially after hearing her testimony,” Escobar wrote.
The claim has not been verified, and neither Botner nor her representatives have commented.
What Botner Said About Flynn
During the trial, Botner described how she once believed she loved Flynn and hoped to marry him. Her feelings have since changed. When asked how she felt about him after his arrest, she said plainly: “I hate him. Because I believe that he murdered his wife.”
Family Details Circulate Online
Escobar also shared unverified claims about Botner’s family, saying her mother is named Brittany and her grandmother is Michelle. She alleged the grandmother was previously married to a man named Lester and that the family fostered someone named Chris McCulley. She also claimed Botner’s mother has remarried and now uses the surname Robinson.
None of these details came up during the trial. Botner’s parents did not appear in court, and the information remains unconfirmed.
Botner’s Background
Before the trial, Botner was a music student and worship leader. She graduated from Graham High School in Saint Paris, Ohio, in 2020, where she was an honor roll student. She later attended Highlands College and earned a degree in worship ministry.
She worked at Christian Life Center in Dayton, the same church where she met Flynn in 2022 while she was a 20-year-old intern. After Flynn’s arrest, the church announced she had resigned.
The Affair at the Center of the Case
Botner testified that her relationship with Flynn began in March 2024 and lasted more than a year. They used multiple messaging apps to hide their communications from Ashley, exchanged nude photos, and got matching lightning bolt tattoos. Flynn placed his in his armpit so his wife wouldn’t see it.
Botner said she repeatedly pressured Flynn to leave his marriage, telling him, “Until she’s gone, I’m gone.”
Flynn’s Conviction
Flynn was convicted on September 29 of aggravated murder, murder, felonious assault, tampering with evidence, and intimidation. The jury deliberated for less than three hours.
Prosecutors argued Flynn killed his wife to escape his marriage while keeping his job, his church position, and custody of his two daughters. The night before the shooting, he texted Botner: “I choose you. I’m free. Actions will come tomorrow.”
Flynn is set to be sentenced on October 5 and faces life in prison without parole.
