Nikki Glaser Boyfriend: Inside Her Open Relationship With Chris Convy

Nikki Glaser has never been afraid to say the quiet part out loud. The comedian and Golden Globes host has built a career on brutal honesty, and her love life is no exception. Her boyfriend, TV producer Chris Convy, has been by her side on and off since 2013. But their relationship defies every conventional rule. Glaser has openly admitted she encourages Convy to hook up with other women, calls his past sexual experiences “foreplay,” and doesn’t believe in soulmates. So who is the man who signed up for this wildly unconventional partnership? Here’s everything we know about Chris Convy and the relationship that keeps comedy’s most candid star happy.

Who Is Chris Convy?

Chris Convy is a television producer who has worked in the industry for nearly two decades. He started his career in 2007 with the MTV Video Music Awards and has since produced major events including Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards and the iHeartRadio Music Awards.

In recent years, he’s focused on TV specials, including The Little Mermaid Live! in 2019 and Adam Sandler: The Kennedy Center Mark Twain Prize for American Humor in 2023. He also executive-produced Glaser’s 2016 Comedy Central series Not Safe with Nikki Glaser and her 2024 stand-up special Someday You’ll Die.

How Nikki Glaser and Chris Convy Met

Glaser and Convy met in 2013 when he was a producer on her MTV late-night show Nikki & Sara Live. Glaser was immediately drawn to him, but she assumed he was a heavy drinker because of how fun and confident he seemed at a party. When she learned he was actually sober, she was stunned.

“I just had a crush from afar, which was so fun because I was just pining for him constantly,” she recalled. “It was very Jim and Pam [from The Office]. I was Jim, and he had no idea.”

Convy became Glaser’s first serious boyfriend. Their relationship has been on and off ever since, with Glaser admitting in 2024 that they’d probably broken up around five times in a decade.

The Open Relationship Arrangement

Glaser made headlines in April 2026 when she appeared on the Call Her Daddy podcast and revealed the details of her relationship with Convy. Her confession was characteristically blunt.

“In a relationship, I don’t really care if my boyfriend were to hook up [with others],” she said. “But that is not a two-way street. I’m not someone who likes to hook up when I’m in a relationship. I don’t really care about that. But I don’t care if someone else were to. In fact, I kind of like it.”

Glaser explained that her interest in Convy’s extramarital encounters began early in their relationship. She would ask him about his past hookups and girlfriends, and the details would turn her on. “It would really be like a foreplay for me,” she said. When he ran out of stories, she encouraged him to “go out there and just have a flirty moment with someone.”

She described her philosophy with a metaphor: “There is nothing cooler than a dog off a leash. And that’s what I want in a boyfriend. It’s like, I know I’m the master.”

The Rules and Boundaries

Despite the openness, Glaser has clear boundaries. She requires that any woman Convy gets involved with knows he has a girlfriend. She also draws a firm line between physical and emotional connection.

“If he were to watch The Wire with her or do crossword puzzles, or send memes and stuff, I would be like, ‘What the f— are you doing? That’s our thing,’” she said. “Emotional cheating would hurt me, but physical… I wouldn’t care as much.”

She also wants full disclosure. “If something were to happen, I would want them to tell me about it. I just don’t want to be blindsided,” she said, adding with a joke: “But if you want to have sex with someone else, also tell me about it because I want to see what she looks like and ask you about it.”

What Convy Thinks About the Arrangement

Glaser has said Convy is fully on board with their dynamic. “He totally understands that there’s someone better for him too,” she said. She doesn’t believe she’s “the love of his life” in the traditional sense. “I mean, I’m a love of his life. I just think that he has many loves of his life, probably.”

She’s also confirmed that Convy has “done some stuff” with other women. “There’s been interesting things that have been really fun for me to hear about and experience,” she said. “And fun for him, too, because, you know, you get older.”

Glaser’s Views on Love and Commitment

Glaser has been remarkably candid about her skepticism toward traditional romance. She told Alex Cooper that being in a committed relationship is “innately settling” because you can never know if your partner is truly the best match for you.

“I don’t believe in soulmates,” she said. “You have to go like, you know what, ‘This is the best I can do right now and I’m gonna just cash in my chips.’”

She’s also admitted to having a fear of commitment and being “the one” who struggled with the idea of forever. But she’s found something that works with Convy. “I actually feel like now he is the one,” she said in 2022. “It’s nice to admit that.”

A Relationship Built on Trust and Honesty

What makes Glaser and Convy’s relationship work isn’t the openness itself. It’s the radical honesty that underpins it. Glaser doesn’t hide her desires or her boundaries. Convy doesn’t pretend to be something he’s not. They’ve built a partnership on terms that would make most couples uncomfortable, and they’ve made it last over a decade.

Glaser herself acknowledges that her approach isn’t for everyone. “I know that this is not how many women feel, and I’m not encouraging any other woman to do this,” she said. “I think, honestly, it probably is detrimental.”

But for her, it works. And for a comedian whose entire career is built on saying what everyone else is thinking but won’t say, that’s the only rule that matters.
