Who Stole the Show at the ‘Verity’ Premiere? Anne Hathaway, Dakota Johnson, and Josh Hartnett

The stars of Verity brought the film’s dark, seductive energy straight to the red carpet. Anne Hathaway, Dakota Johnson, and Josh Hartnett reunited in New York City on Tuesday night for the world premiere of the Colleen Hoover adaptation, delivering a masterclass in premiere-night glamour just days before the film hits theaters.

The event took place at AMC Lincoln Square 13, marking the final major stop on the film’s promotional tour before its October 2 release.

Anne Hathaway’s Maternity Moment

Anne Hathaway, 43, stole the show in a custom Atelier Prabal Gurung black shredded chiffon gown with crystal bead embroidery and a pleated tulle skirt. The Oscar winner, who is pregnant with her third child, cradled her baby bump on the carpet, turning her maternity style into one of the season’s defining red carpet stories.

She skipped the London premiere last week due to her pregnancy, making her New York appearance all the more anticipated. She wore her brunette hair in a half-up, half-down high ponytail with silver earrings to complete the look.

Dakota Johnson’s Crystal Waterfall

Dakota Johnson, 36, matched the film’s psychological intensity with a custom Calvin Klein Collection ensemble: a white iridescent sequin-embroidered top paired with a high-slit column skirt featuring a crystal fringe that created a waterfall effect. She finished the look with matching square-toed leather sandals, bright red lipstick, and a diamond necklace.

Johnson stars as Lowen Ashleigh, the struggling writer who uncovers a disturbing manuscript while ghostwriting for Hathaway’s Verity Crawford.

Josh Hartnett’s Sharp Arrival

Josh Hartnett, 48, kept it classic in a grey suit and black dress shoes. The actor, who plays Verity’s devoted husband Jeremy Crawford, was joined at the premiere by his wife, Tamsin Egerton.

The Full Guest List

Also in attendance were co-star Ismael Cruz Cordova, director Michael Showalter, screenwriter Nick Antosca, and author Colleen Hoover herself, who served as a producer on the adaptation.

What to Expect from ‘Verity’

Based on Hoover’s bestselling 2018 psychological thriller, Verity follows Lowen Ashleigh, a down-on-her-luck writer hired by Jeremy Crawford to finish the book series his wife Verity can no longer write after a mysterious accident. Once Lowen moves into the Crawfords’ opulent estate, she discovers an unfinished manuscript that threatens to expose dark secrets about Verity and her husband’s past.

The film marks Hathaway’s fifth release of 2026 and her second collaboration with director Michael Showalter after The Idea of You.

Verity opens exclusively in theaters on October 2.
